Saving money is not an easy task. There are so many things to be considered such as allocation of electric bills, phone bills, water bills and a few other bills so that money can be utilize wisely. However we must not sacrificing the food allocation while reducing the money spent on bills and other stuff. To avoid shortage on food allocation, you can follow the money saving tips below:

  • List down all the goods that are "a must have" in your kitchen, i.e. goods that always being bought. For instance, good such as coffee, tea, milk, sugar, soy sauce, salt, onion, and eggs. These items must be in your list.
  • Plan your meals by weeks and plan it in advance. This can help you to avoid overspending on unnecessary goods as well as missing ingredients. This would save your time too.
  • No need to buy branded goods. There are products with the same quality as the branded ones but cheaper. The benefits received are almost the same, but you spend less.
  • Buy goods that have more than one purpose. For example, mayonnaise. It can be used for sandwich spread as well as in macaroni salad. In that way, you could enjoy both meals without spending more.
  • Do not bring credit card along when you go shopping for groceries. In other words, pay in cash. There’s always a tendency to buy unnecessary goods.
  • Be creative on your leftovers. Leftovers are not always go to the bin. They can be combined with other meals and still be appealing your appetite.
  • Bring along some snacks when you are on a journey. This is to avoid your temptation to stop at a mini store or restaurant. Snacks can be a good reliever for your hunger.
  • Plan your shopping on a periodic basis, such as once or twice a month. Therefore, less time will be allocated for groceries shopping and minimizing the chances of overspending.
